Are there financial and other incentives for hiring people who have disabilities?

Some specific programs are noted below but you may want to talk with someone from the nearest office of the Division of Vocational Rehabilitation about the incentives they know about. See the list of DVR offices following the heading "Looking for an employee?".

This website describes tax incentives for hiring people who have gone through state or Federal Vocational Rehabilitation Services, people who receive SSI, or veterans with service-related disabilities.

More detailed in formation can be found at

You can get paid every month for several years for employing a person full time who receives Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) by becoming an "Employment Network" (EN) in conjunction with the Washington State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR). Don't let the word "network" put you off. If you participate in this program you do not really become an employment network. This is part of the Ticket to Work program.
